Most Secret Desire

I have been pondering on this quote lately. It cuts right through the heart.

"If each of us were to confess his most secret desire, the one that inspires all his plans, all his actions, he would say, 'I want to be praised.' "

My motives are never pure. I am reminded of how much I need the Spirit to guide, direct and cleanse me. In the end I want my life count for God.
